A Students' Life in COVID-19 Pandemic

Is COVID-19 pandemic affecting the educational systems Worldwide??

The answer is Yes, the pandemic has adversely affected the educational systems around the globe, leading to a near- total closures of schools, universities and colleges. Most governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

To reduce the spread of the virus many non-pharmaceutical and preventive measures have been implemented like Social- distancing and Self- isolation which have prompted the closures of all educational institutions.

Are school closures only affecting Students, teachers and Families??

 

No, it is not only affecting the school staff, but has far reaching economic and societal consequences. It affects many jobs and the economy of country. It is also affecting the way students used to learn and that's why Online Teaching was introduced in the mid- march which has been beneficial in a way that at least students can study and they don't have to skip an academic session because of this pandemic.

But.. Are there difficulties in attending Online Classes??

This is the thing that only a student can answer and as being a student I've experienced the difficulties of attending online classes!! They are beneficial at least we get to study but If telling this to someone it will not be wrong to say "Had been there I survived, So just take my advice" (Sometimes lyrics of a song are a good example to explain anything..) So now I will not discuss any song here.. let's come back to the topic, the difficulties were of that level were we cannot do a single thing to fix them!! Like-

• Internet Disconnection- The internet disconnection in between the class is the most terrible thing in math class specially, where if we miss anything we have to start that all over and interrupt our  teacher to tell that thing again because our internet was disconnected.
• Lagging of laptop- The students who were using laptop (Including me!!) they know that sometimes it started lagging so badly that most of us thought that the laptop must be tired and mad at us for using it continuously for 5-6 hours straight and specially when classes are about to start!!
• Interrupting of family members- This was the funniest and yet embarrassing thing during these classes.. For example- if the teacher asks me a question and I have to answer it and I'm answering it very smartly with my video on then suddenly, if my sibling, my mom or my dad starts saying something like if mom says "I'm making this for lunch is it ok with everybody else" and dad says "No if you will make this too then it will be good and I'll help you" and sibling interrupts "You never make anything of my choice" this is the situation where I will get so embarrassed that I will turn off my video and mute myself and yell at them like "Don't you all know my class is going on talk in a low voice I've told it a million times.. ugh!!" This is so irritating and other classmates are also listening it and teacher is like Please child mute yourself but she also laughs.

But the most buzzing and questionable topic these days is  related to schools and other institutions is.. 

When will the schools and colleges reopen??

This topic if comes in the news debates, these debates will go at least 2-3 hours, because this is the only burning topic these days. Everyone has their own opinion, someone says opening of schools will give people jobs and the staff will get full salary without any deduction and it will increase country's economy. In my opinion this is true and beneficial but, what about the children who will go to school? what about their safety? will they be able to maintain social- distancing? will they be able to study apart without their friends? because since years we all have an habit to go to school, talk to our friends, play with them, sit with them and study with with them. These questions remain unanswered..

It's been more than 6 months we all are attending our classes online and half of the year is gone, So what will they do after opening schools in the next term? I think this should be implemented after we find a way a vaccine to defeat this virus, this academic year 2020-21 should remain online only. This year there are no chances of any vaccine, if by chance we get something it will take 3-4 months to make it on large scale and to send it to all the countries in the world. It will be better if we will leave it as it is going on till now for the betterment of students and teachers.

Someday, this could be ordinary. We all know this it's just that we have to wait a bit more to live in the normal world once again..!!
